Pirelli was founded in 1872 in Milan - Italy, and the company is still headquartered there today. Pirelli wasn’t always a specialty tyre company. Originally, they focused primarily on rubber based products such as rubber bands and drive belts for equipment.

Over the years Pirelli has been an inventive and innovative company, pioneering performance radial tyres as used on the Lancia Stratos and Porsche 911 Turbo where other manufacturers could not offer a tyre able to handle the power levels and grip requirements.
